Coorong Artist Rosa Merlino was the inaugural 2014 artist in residence at The McCormick Centre.
Rosa’s exhibition ‘Coorong The Hidden Identity’ is a body of work made up of different plants, dirt’s and dyes from the Coorong area as well as found objects and salt.
Rosa stayed at Calperum Station, a 240 thousand hectare conservation park where she ran workshops in charcoal drawing, earthworks, oil finger painting and gave a talk on rust dying. As a part of The McCormick Centre’s ‘Creative Careers’ program, Rosa also ran a workshop with disengaged young people.
Rosa’s work will be on display throughout February at The McCormick Centre, located on Ral Ral Ave, Renmark.
