Limestone Coast Symphony Orchestra 2015

About

Since its first concert in 2013, the Limestone Coast Symphony Orchestra has carved out a niche in the musical life of the South East. The enthusiasm with which audiences have embraced the concept of an orchestra of local musicians has been remarkable. Full houses, standing ovations and community awards have regaled the orchestra’s first two sell-out seasons.

In June, the 70 piece orchestra, conducted by Angus Christie, will present a concert from the Baroque to contemporary works.
Sensational young soprano Elspeth Bawden returns by popular request. She will sing a baroque aria and a music theatre piece. The choir for 2015 is Mount Gambier’s Phoenix Rising.

In addition to classically trained musicians, including former professionals who have played at the highest levels of the industry, there are talented amateurs – farmers, mums,
doctors, small business operators, teachers and students.

In 2015 the orchestra once again proudly appears as the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre’s Orchestra-In-Residence.
