About

Set against the unforgiving backdrop of rural Australia, At the Mercy tells the story of a young girl striving to hold her family together as her father falls deeper into despair. The film explores the profound struggles of mental health and financial hardship during the millennium drought, leading to a heart-wrenching decision that forces her to confront the fragility of life.

Join us for the world premiere of At the Mercy, the latest film from local director/producer John deCaux which has been produced with the support of Regional Arts Australia, Country Arts SA and The District Council of Loxton Waikerie.

The evening will begin with food and drinks before the screening, followed by a panel discussion featuring local industry leaders and the South Australian Mental Health Commissioner, Taimi Allan.

This film contains themes of mental health struggles, including scenes depicting self-harm, which may be distressing to some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised. Mental health support will be available at the event, and we encourage anyone affected to seek assistance.
