For the first time ever, The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform at Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre on Friday 25th July at 7PM. This concert will feature 26 musicians, singers, and dancers on stage, performing the unforgettable music of the 1940’s, from the Golden Era of Swing.
A special added feature will be music from the library of The Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band performed by the Orchestra, including the original arrangement of The St Louis Blues March.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra, featuring America’s finest musicians and singers, together with The Moonlight Serenade Singers and The Broadway Swing Dancers, bring back all those sentimental memories of the 1940’s – the great ‘Big Band’ hits, the original Glenn Miller arrangements, the music of The Andrews Sisters, the Frank Sinatra Songbook, the romantic World War II melodies made famous by Vera Lynn…We’ll Meet Again, The White Cliffs Of Dover, and many more…
Even after 77 years, Glenn Miller’s musical arrangements are still heard around the world – timeless icons of American culture such as Chattanooga Choo Choo, In the Mood, Tuxedo Junction, A String of Pearls, Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug, Pennsylvania 6-5000 – music which captivated millions of people worldwide, now all brought together on stage in what promises to be a memorable concert. We urge you to book early.
