Famous for producing world-class rugby players and sailors, New Zealand also produces some of the world’s best contemporary dancers. From award-winning choreographer/filmmaker Sue Healey, Virtuosi is a feature length documentary about eight of these dancers. With cities such as Berlin, New York and London as backdrops, as well as the stunning natural beauty of New Zealand, they display the skills which have taken them around the globe.
Virtuosi combines these heartfelt dance stories with glorious cinematography to create a unique insight into the talents of our Kiwi neighbours.

Virtuosi screens alongside GAIA. GAIA is the ancient Greek Earth goddess, the great mother and creator of all. Through dance on film, GAIA brings to life her 4.5 billion year story and her struggle to survive.
Created by dancer/choreographer Erin Fowler, and filmmaker and time-lapse specialist Nick Graalman, GAIA relates to the global concerns around the Earth’s warming, climate change and our environment in a new way. Through dance, film and music, GAIA takes the audience through her sacred, harmonious beginnings through to the challenges she faces today. For further information visit www.gaiadancefilm.com.au.
