Artist in Residence

APPLICATIONS  CLOSED FOR 2014

BUNDANON TRUST ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2014 – applications now open

Initiated in 1997, Bundanon Trust’s Artist in Residence program is the largest in Australia, welcoming more than 300 professional artists and creative thinkers each year, spanning theatre, dance, new media, visual arts, music and the written word.

The program is a key part of Arthur Boyd’s vision for Bundanon: to give artists, across all disciplines, first-hand access to the rich cultural and environmental history of the Bundanon properties and to provide a platform for them to work together. Artists and creatives undertaking a residency spend up to six weeks in purpose-built studios in lush bushland on the Shoalhaven River in regional New South Wales.

The program is open to artists and groups from Australia and overseas. Arthur Boyd’s extraordinary act of philanthropy continues to fuel artistic endeavours in all artforms.

The Bundanon Artist in Residence complex, designed by Sydney architects Tonkin Zulaikha, was opened by Arthur Boyd in 1998. Operating 50 weeks a year, the site can host up to 300 artists per year. It offers studio space and accommodation for up to ten individuals in single or shared accommodation at Bundanon or up to 36 in shared accomodation at a second property, Riversdale.

How do I apply for a Bundanon residency?

Groups and individuals can apply for a residency. Each year Bundanon Trust makes a call for applications for residencies which are assessed by a panel of industry experts who will nominate successful proposals for the following year.
