Robyn Andrews basketry
On the 19th of December, a 44-degree day, local artist and community members flocked to the air-conditioned McCormick Centre to celebrate the Centre’s latest exhibition BASKET CASE.
Basket Case is a collaborative exhibition of local indigenous artists Kat Knuth and local artist Robyn Andrews.
Each painting and sculpture of Kat Knuth’s comes with a story that is an emotional representation of the people she has met on her journeys around the world.
Robyn Andrews’s contemporary and traditional basketry are woven from materials sourced locally, from the environs of the McCormick Centre and the surrounding properties.
Robyn has been hailed as a gifted weaver and is praised for giving humble materials dignity through the beautiful objects & artworks she creates.
It was a fantastic night filled with love, friendship, Art, food and 919 wines.
The exhibition will be on from the 6th of January till the 2nd of February.
