Yarn Bombing has hit the main street in Mannum.
The local Mannum chapter of the Red Hatters womens’ group has been meeting together and knitting for 6 months, supported by Country Arts SA and Mid Murray Council Arts Officer, Tess Minett.
Inspired by the location, the fence of a former plant nursery, the bombing depicts a range of flowers, plants, garden variety creepy crawlies and other pastoral motifs.
The Red Hat Society was started in America in 1998 and now has 40,000 chapters around the world. It provides an opportunity for women to meet together and support the arts by attending and participating in community arts events.
