Get Wet with WATER 2013

Call out to Riverland artists to be part of the Riverland Youth Theatre’s Water 2013 project

Water 2013 will unite the Riverland’s diverse cultural community through a series of large outdoor performances exploring the shared significance of water. Water myths, legends and stories will come to life through large scale puppetry and lanterns as part of the most highly attended events in the Riverland’s calendar – the Renmark Christmas Pageant and Loxton Lights UP, held on November 30 and December 6 respectively.

RYT has partnered with renowned Adelaide based company KneeHIGH to bring FREE workshops to schools and community groups making lanterns, large puppets and sculptures.

The Riverland Youth Theatre will set up the WATER project workshop at the Bus Depot in Renmark Avenue, Renmark from October 28 – December 6 for community members, artists and community groups to get involved making artworks for the events.

“We are extremely excited about the spectacle that Water 2013 will bring to the region. It’s great to get the whole community involved in this project – RYT’s largest to date” says artistic director Olivia Allen.

To get your community group, school, family or yourself involved email Olivia at [email protected] or contact 08 85863437 for more information.

The Water project is supported through a Multicultural Grant by the Hon. Jennifer Rankine MP – Minister of Multicultural Affairs.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body, Country Arts SA through the Regional Arts fund, Arts SA and the Loxton Chamber of Commerce.
