JUMP MENTORING 2014

Australia Council announces applications now open for 2014:

In 2013, 40 JUMP recipients embarked on a journey with their mentors: widening industry networks across the globe, learning new skills, being creatively challenged by their mentors, and taking their art practice to a new level.

In 2014 you could be a JUMP mentee.

JUMP Mentoring supports creative arts practitioners in the first five years of their professional practice to work on an applied mentorship with a mentor of their choice. It is both a funding program as well as a professional development program, run by the Australia Council and in 2013 in partnership with Next Wave.

JUMP is open to individuals and groups who work in any of the Australia Council supported artforms including theatre, dance, music, visual art, literature, emerging and experimental arts and community partnerships. Applicants could be theatre directors, artists, writers, poets, editors, music or theatrical producers, craftspeople, costume/set designers, jewellery designers, curators, community arts workers, choreographers, playwrights, dramaturges, opera singers, librettists, musicians, composers, and more!

This is your opportunity to THINK BIG!

Who are the creative leaders in your field?

Who have you always dreamed of working with and learning from?

Individuals can apply for up to $10,000 and groups can apply for up to $20,000. Through JUMP you can apply for fees to work on your mentorship, funds to support additional professional development and for costs towards a creative project developed with your mentor as part of the mentorship.

Remember JUMP mentoringis a mentorship program, not project funding! You may have the best project but if it isn’t supporting your mentorship it won’t be competitive. Think of your dream person to work with, then think of a project you could do under their mentorship.

Applications close 9 September 2013.
