Ant Martin is a disabled artist from Millicent who is just hitting his stride with his fantastic Australian Hardwood sculptures having just won a major commission to convert a 150 year old River Redgum tree stump into a public artwork.
Commissioned by the Holdfast Bay Council in Adelaide, the sculpture will be created at the high-traffic corner of King George Avenue and Ilfraombe Avenue at Brighton.
Ants sculpture will depict a family holding hands and will take him 4 – 5 weeks to complete with the official handover to occur on April 2.
He also runs Ant’s Redgum Gallery which showcases up to 60 of his Australian hardwood sculptures and carvings at any one time. Ant can be seen creating his masterpieces in the adjoining workshops.
