Simon Klose has been appointed as the new Director of the Riddoch Art Gallery.
Simon was the former Director of the Benalla Art Gallery in Victoria and commenced as the new director on Tuesday March 12.
A practicing artist, Mr Klose comes to the Riddoch Art Gallery with an extensive background in gallery management.
He replaces former director Lucia Pichler, who resigned earlier this year to take up co-ordinating arts projects in East Timor.
Mr Klose’s first week at the gallery was an exciting beginning with the opening on Friday March 15 of the Needham Religious Art Prize exhibition.
The award was won by South Australian artist Helen Sheriff for her piece (She thought he was ) The Gardener, which depicted Mary Magdalene meeting Jesus for the first time on Easter morning.
The exhibition is on view until April 28
