Sculpture Biennial to open

The scorching January heat has now fried the last vestiges of winter green from the Palmer Landscape, setting the scene for the sixth Palmer Sculpture Biennial.  Arid wilderness is an essential component of this exhibition.  To walk over a rise on SA sculptor Greg Johns’ 403 acre segment of the Palmer Hills and be confronted with a contemporary art work is an arresting experience.  Against the rugged bronzed vegetation and the expanse of landform and skyscape they stand out with a unique authority not to be found in galleries.

The 2014 Biennial will be open to the public in March.  It will feature works from 24 artists from SA, interstate and overseas.  The exhibition opening will be on Saturday 8 March 2pm to 7pm.

The Palmer Sculpture Landscape is located at 372 Davenport Road, 3.5ks North from the Hotel at Palmer and will be open for public viewing on Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 to 4pm and Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 6pm until Sunday 23 March.
