Look Out! Scarecrows

Thirty Five scarecrows can be seen scattered along Riddoch Highway amongst Padthaway’s vineyards and roadside driveways.

The local community encouraged each other to create roadside messages in a bid to spike  travellers interest in Padthaway as they toured through the Upper South East.  In it’s second year the competition has proved to be a unique tourist attraction with the locals creating complex, creative and interactive  scarecrows.

Padthaway Vignerons Assoication offered prizes for the best Company, Family and School scarecrow. The winners were selected from the most votes received by the Working On Organic Farm For Food and Accommodation (WOOFFA) backpackers travelling through the district.
