The Mona Lisa Project

This is a chance for everyone to make their own masterpiece (perhaps).

Students of all ages will receive a short explanatory talk about the Mona Lisa on display in the Da Vinci Machines exhibition. The talk will cover the history of the painting, the method of painting and why the Mona Lisa is so famous. We then move to the studio where prepared boards and pastels together with guiding reproductions will be available for students to make their own Mona Lisa.

Our tutor is renowned chalk artist Craig Whithers. Trained in Scotland and enjoying the relative good climate of Mt. Gambier we have persuaded him to share some of his knowledge and experience with us. He’s good….

EXHIBITION: The resulting Mona Lisa artworks will be displayed in the Southwalk window, growing each week as the project travels through the exhibition. Artwork to be collected at exhibition end.
