Support Workshops for Regional Kids

First-hand access to working artists and performers can have a profound impact on a young person dreaming of a career in the arts. Your donation can help young people in our regions turn their dreams into reality by connecting them with workshops hosted by touring artists.

Offered alongside tickets to attend performances, these engaging workshops allow young people to develop their skills, gain confidence, and be inspired in ways they would not otherwise have been able to experience.

Your support will provide valuable opportunities for students and other young people to talk directly with working artists and discover tangible pathways into the arts.

“For my students, it is an experience that they don’t really get out in Whyalla.

We don’t have access to professional dance companies to that kind of level a lot of the time, so it’s really positive for them to be able to get that practical experience.

They also get the chance to ask questions, particularly if they’re looking to go into the industry; how do we get there, what do we need to do, who do we need to talk to and to be able to get that information direct from people that have done that before them.”

— Anna Hildebrandt, Performing Arts Teacher, Whyalla Secondary College

Being able to participate gave me a lot more confidence. I am a dancer, so having people from Bangarra come in and have this opportunity with the dancers, it was really fun and it definitely boosts my confidence a lot. I think, going forward, I might put myself out there a bit more.

— Aimee, Whyalla Secondary College Student
